I'm currently reading Stolen by an Alien...... it is so funny. My husband keeps giving me amused looks because I'm laughing so much. Thanks for the rec!
edit and update - I just finished this book and it was really good. The only critique I have is that the author didn't really give descriptions of the humans which bothered me a bit.
alyrica - Did you mean the book by Amanda Milo Stolen by An Alien ? I LOVED that book too. It was such an unexpected find.
She redid her book cover!!!!!!!!!!! It looks fan-freaking-tastic!
Yes! This book was great. I'll probably read book 2 soon.
The thing that is really really cool for me is that I don't typically read alien romances. I read so much though and found myself getting bored with contemporary romances. I decided to try other books that I wouldn't normally read such as historical, romantic suspense, menage and alien romances. This has worked out great for me because I have read a lot of really great books that I would have passed over in the past.

Captured: Warriors of Hir, Book 1 by Willow Danes is good as are the two books that follow in the series. It reminds me a bit of the Grimm books by MKE. Alpha males running out of women on their home planet coming to Earth to find mates. It also has a similar high-tech meets medieval castle-keep feel to it. Unfortunately she's one of those authors who announced the 4th book's 2016 release date back in 2015, and still no updates yet. Perhaps there has been a family emergency or something?
My absolute favorite, though, continues to be Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarian Series. How embarrassing to be lusting after a bunch of blue, 7 foot tall alien hunks with horns and a tail! *sigh*
I also like Marie Dry's Alien Mine They are alpha male killer types taking over planets in search of women to breed with. They are loyal, albeit stoic, and don't cheat or let other males near their women. They crack me up how they reject certain displays of affection from their "breeders" and use language women find offensive (like breeder) but are actually very respectful and loving in their own, weird alien way. After the second book it began to lose some steam for me but I'm not giving up on it yet.

I love Ruby Dixon! I love her Dragon books too. She's a great writer and she writes so fast. She's like the author "energizer bunny" or something.
I love Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians series. Some books are better than others but overall, they are better than most of the alien romances out there.
The other series I enjoyed is Celestial Mates.. the books are quite short and just enough to be entertaining for an hour's worth of reading.
In addition to some already mentioned, I very much like Dark Horse by Michelle Diener. It's the first of the Class 5 trilogy, but it's by far my favorite of the three.

I've read that book and it's good. I think it was originally recommended on the original "romance with aliens that look like aliens" thread on Amazon, iirc. I never would've read it otherwise and I would've missed out.
FYI - For those who haven't read Dark Horse, there's a lot of world, story and relationship building in it. The intimacy is delayed in favor of telling an interesting story.
My fave Alien romance author is SE Smith - I think I've got and read everything by her but the new NA books and the menage stuff. I just fly through her books, I actually said to someone once that it was a shame she wrote such short books, but then I went back and checked the page count and they're not short at all. I just devour them so quickly, and they're paced so well, that they seem shorter than they are!

I loved those books (Warriors of Hir) when they came out, I actually got an ARC or Beta copies(I can't remember which since it's been a while) for books 2 and 3. I was so sad she dropped this series/ pseudonym. She writes most of her books as another name and I guess she dropped this one/series maybe it didn't do as well as her others. I remember JudyB(pretty positive it was JudyB) and I both tried to contact her since it had been so long since we heard from her but we never heard back form her. Which is sad because this series was really good. Sorry I only slept about 4 hours last night so my brain is not it's best right now. So let me go take my driving written test for renewal now lets hope thats a good idea.

I Like SE Smith too. She used to be an auto-buy for me and I swear I stalked her but then I began to feel like her books shifted from focusing on the couple and their story to the overall story of that particular book. The romance felt like it took a back seat to the story and I wanted more. (I hope that makes sense.) Regardless, SE Smith is hugely talented and a great author. I love-love-LOVE the Dragon Lords series and Choosing Riley is a favorite of mine. It's OTT ridiculous, I know but it was so lol entertaining and fun to read. I love it when the H has to pursue the h and the stuff she put her H through to avoid him were hysterical.
How are her newer books? Has she shifted back to focusing more on the couple like she did in Abducting Abby and Choosing Riley or has she continued to shift away from that? Every time I see a book of hers, I'm sooooo tempted to buy it. I love her covers and when the romance is there, she hits it out of the ball-park for me.

I loved the Warriors of Hir series too. I've read them all and I agree they with you. They're very good. I didn't know that the author wrote under a pseudonym nor that she had stopped writing them. Dang!

You're probably a better driver with your brain not working the best and only 4 hours of sleep than most of the drivers I seem to encounter lately. Urgh! I hope you do well on your driving test and are able to get more sleep!
