Ok. Read this last night. Full disclosure Linda Howard has 5 spots on my top 15 ever list. I LIKE her books a lot. I do not like this. There is very little romance, the main story of the book (being left behind - it's the freaking title!) takes up maybe being really generous 20% of the book and that is at the end. The H and h barely spend any time together at all through most of the book. I was expecting the title conflict to be the main issue throughout the book. No. All of that occurs near the end and is resolved super quick. Most of the book is spent on the h training for weird soldier missions and she barely even goes on any and being buddies with all the other guys on the team. I know more about all the other guys than I do the H because he just isn't present or interacting for the majority of the book. It feels like Linda Howard doesn't want to write a romance anymore or has forgotten how to do it and doesn't really care.
On a funny side note, when this book popped up for me the pop up window is sized so that the title of the book looks like Howard The Woman which would have been an entirely different book!
