Johanna Lindsey but I don't care for her newer stuff. So everything from 90's or earlier for me.

Same here Samantha, oldies are THE BEST!

They over-analyse everything these days which makes the books boring. And when it comes to the books that part of the series,
they retell previous stories instead of letting the previous characters interact with the new ones.

JennyG and SamanthaK--I so agree. I'm so sick to death of pc men. I want the hero to be a real man.

gillybags - I like Elizabeth Hoyt too. That's 3 authors we have in common. (Johanna Lindsey, Amanda Quick and Elizabeth Hoyt.) I haven't read anything by the other authors.

tangerine - We're twins with Amanda Quick. I can't stand her newer stuff. It's like she began to focus more on the antiquities in the story rather than the romance. Boring!

I agree. Isn't it sad that we have to look for that (for the focus to be in the romance) in romances? It seems like common sense to me. A book marketed as romance, and a series that's been a romance, should be a romance!

(Yeah, I feel like I've been let down by some authors in the past especially in regards to a series.)

Wish I'd read this a while ago. I just bought one of Amanda Quick's new novels but I haven't read it yet. Sounds like I'm not going to like it.

I felt that way about her Lavinia Lake/Tobias March series. It was only barely a romance. It was more of a mystery series. The romance was just an aside. That's not why I read Amanda Quick.
