Hi everyone! I'm in the mood to read some werewolf romance whereby the H doesn't deny the h (or try to fight their mate bond if they are mates). I'm ok if the heroine does it, because double standards and I love it when the H does the chase. Best if H is alpha/possessive/jealous, no cheating or OW after meeting h. Any recommendations?
I've read and loved Alpha & Omega Series by Patricia Briggs, it's one of my all time favourites because the H is so protective and wonderful, while the h is equally lovely and sweet. I do love strong heroines but I don't like it when authors over-do it and the h becomes overly sassy (it usually becomes annoying). I'm ok with damsels in distress, just not doormats. Now that I'm re-reading what I typed, am I being too picky..
Yeap! Sadly, I didn't really like the first 2 books in the series so I didn't intend to continue until I saw the rave reviews for Kaleb's book (Heart of Obsidian). I read that and loved it. I've also read the latest book, Silver Silence, and Valentin is yumz.
It has been awhile since I read wolf shifters, and I can't remember if the ones I have read had an H who did not fight the mating. I think in the novella Jace: Wolves of the Rising Sun the H accepts it, but I also remember him being suspicious of the h because she is a photographer. I have other books in the series but have not read them yet.

Laurann Dohner wrote a short series (3 books) about wolf shifters that's pretty good. Don't know if it meets all your criteria or not, it's been a while since I read it. Mate Set - Mating Heat Book 1
I've also read a book that I later realised fell in the middle of a large set. I gave it 4.5 stars in my database so it must have been pretty darn good. Don't remember much except that there were also vampires involved. This one is more werewolf than wolf shifter. Must Love Lycans - Broken Heart Series Book 8 - Michele Bardsley. I seem to remember it was a bit humorous too but not positive on that.
If you like wolf shifters or other vampire/paranormal, here are some other authors you could try:
Dana Marie Bell - her writing is spotty and can be a bit Juvenile, even though her books are very explicit. Vivian Arend - her shifter books are not as good as her cowboy books, but still pretty good. Also Explcit. Tina Folsom - she has a great vampire series. Very well written.
I just thought of one that might work for you With Everything I Am (The Three Series Book) by Kristen Ashley. I've only read it once but I loved it. H forces the h to mate with him. The h wants to get away from him. Dominant, controlling, j/p H. Trying not to give so too much away here but H is a warewolf and h is a human that has a life threatening condition.

virky posted that KA's book With Everything I Am (The Three Series) is on sale for $1.99. I've read this one and it was really good. It's probably close to 5 stars for me. (It might actually be a 5 star book but it's been a while, so I'm not 100% certain, lol.)
I recommend it if you like werewolf shifter romances with a j/p alpha that's very controlling. If you don't like that, stay away.
Katie Reus writes some of my fave werewolf books. She has some Nocturne stand alones, and there's the Moon Shifter series and later Darkness series (and there's also the Crescent Moon series under her Savannah Stuart name). Some where both hero and heroine are shifters, some where the heroine is human, there's an occasional something other than than just a wolf-shifter (feline-, dragon- and occasional "stray" vampire). Her heroes are always only-about-the-heroine types (so no cheaty ones), and there's some really good hero-in-pursuit ones (like Primal Possession - perhaps my fave one).
ETA: Perhaps my fave wolf series, after Katie Reus - Rhyannon Byrd's Bloodrunners series (like the Katie Reus Nocturne ones, they're almost to good to be part of this line - they're so much better than I expected). Love it!! Also I love the Jennifter Ashley Shifters Unbound series (not just wolves though)... and of course, the Were-Hunters in Sherrilyn Kenyon's -Hunter world, some of the best around.
...and I'm reminded of the Dani Harper Changeling Moon series (this 3 book series was really good) and the Sharie Kohler Moon Chasers series (one of the earliest werewolf series I got hooked on - might have to go back for a reread, it's been so long since I read these).

Hmmmm..... I may have to try that one again. I typically love KA and love j/p heros but I detested that book and DNF'd it at around 40% (only KA I've ever DNF'd). It could have been my mood at the time but what bugged me is that he was so selfish and didn't care what she wanted. I'm sure this probably changed knowing KA but I was getting so angry that my only options were to either stop reading or throw my iPad.
Strangely enough, many reviewers disliked the first book in that series, especially the H but I thought it was OK. I had no issues with the hero and thought he acted in a way I would expect a vampire to act. I still didn't love the book but never felt like I couldn't or wouldn't finish it.
alyrica - The H is an alpha-hole and he's VERY controlling of the h. He tricks her into mating with him and gives her zero choice. He takes over her life and basically kidnaps her. He doesn't see it that way but she didn't want to go with him to his castle to live. I can understand how his dominance would turn off many readers.
FYI - I love this type of H as long as there's no abuse and I see him overall treating the h well. I felt like he did. In the beginning he mates with her because he needs to but he's disgruntled that she's human. Slowly, little things the h does entrap him. The beauty of it is that the h doesn't want to entrap him. I love that kind of push/pull in books. She's human, fragile and the H fears for her health. He'll force her to be safe if he has to. The h grows to become a strong h and can hold her own next to the H. (I always thought she was strong but she becomes more so.) I loved it but if you don't like dominating, controlling alpha-holes, it might not be for you.
