Any fans here of this duo's books? I would love to have The Belgariad series and the Mallorean series in ebook. I can't find anything saying that Del Rey/Random House has any plans to release them. I have them all in paperback, and I reread Polgara the Sorceress every 2 or 3 years. She's one of my all time favorite book characters. I would love, love to have them in ebook even at Penguin Random House's overblown digital prices. *Sigh* It's time to pull out the paperbacks again.
I've heard favorable mention of the Belgariad many times over the years. What do you like about this and the authors' other series, agreads? Are there other books you've read that are in any way similar? I'm trying to get a feel for whether I might enjoy these.
If you can read German, you're in luck as the books seem to be available in Kindle version in that language!

Sadly, I am monolingual aside from a few scattered words in Spanish.
I'm not sure if I could really compare the books to anything else. Possibly a cross between The Hobbit, and the Legend of Drizzt books by Salvatore. The Eddings books are epic high fantasy with a cast of major players, a quest to save the world, some romantic sidelines, with magic and creatures and epic battles. They are very well written with some great in-depth characters and world building and span years.
Thank you for the description, agreads. While I'm unfamiliar with the Salvatore books, I have read the Hobbit. I suspect that this series is not for me after all. I do like fantasy, but I lean more towards urban fantasy than epic battles. Oh, well. It's not as though I don't have several thousand other choices languishing in the cloud!
