What are your reading goals for next year? Not a resolution, but goals. Do you want to read a certain amount of books in 2020? Is there a series you'd like to get through? Is there a sub-genre that you want to give a try?
I try to read a minimum of 120 books a year. Mari and I are going to listen to Gena Showalter's The Lords of the Underworld again. (There are 15 of them now.) Another goal is to go through all my physical books and decide what needs to go to the used book store and what I want to keep.
Has anyone noticed where we can start a challenge for 2020 on Goodreads? Maybe it won't show up until after the 1st.
Linda........it's just not LOTU we have to catch up on, we also have to review the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning before the next book comes out in June. Ahh, Jericho Barrons, good times reading about him. What an anti-hero!
I read / listened up to book 11, The Darkest Touch before I stopped reading the series. Book 15, The Darkest King, comes out in February. We have a lot of reading / listening to do in the next month. Plus, you know everything will stop for Golden in Death by J.D. Robb.
I'll start listening to The Darkest Fire tomorrow.
Anyone is welcome to join us. We'll post our reviews.
My goal is the same as last year. 125 new books in 2020. That's a realistic goal for me.
My goal isn't so much reading...heaven knows, I do a lot of that! But I need to decide if I'm going to read the dtb's that I have boxes & bags & shelves full; most of them unread, or if I should start moving them out. I'm having a bit of trouble holding them open, esp. when at the beginning and ends of the books. Hands just don't like it so much anymore...and I certainly have plenty on my Kindle to read! But maybe if I read them more, & exercise the hands, things would go better. Anyone know if that works? Yeah, arthritis is annoying!
I should set a goal of not rereading anything until I've read at least 2 new titles...but that goal would die a quick & ugly death! I'm currently rereading Lauren Dane. I started with the Chase brothers series, reread all 4; I'm now rereading the Petal Georgia series; a continuation to the Chase Bros. Been so long since I read them; almost like new books!

I have boxes and boxes of dtb's. My goal this year, and I've already started, it to go through each box and any book I have on my Kindle or any book that I know I'll never read again because my taste has changed, I'm donating to our Community Hospice Hope Chest. It's silly for me to tie up a whole room with boxes of books I haven't looked at in years and never will!
good point, BB! I should do the same because I'm sure I've picked up a few when they were on sale in ebk format!
I figure it's for a good cause. I could do a yard sale but too much work. We've both had several family members pass away with cancer so if donating my books and some clothes can help somebody is some way I'm all for it.

So, you're telling me the beginning of 2020 will be filled with PNR? We can do both LOTU and Fever by June. I could use me some Jericho Barrons, too!
It will be broken up with the new JAK next week (that looks a bit PNR-ish as well)
Yep, always a bit of PNR in JAK's books anymore...actually, they've been in there for a very long time; sometimes just a hint of esp...maybe between h & H... Enjoy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!!
Hopefully, I will be looking at the remaining paper books I have, I know some of them can go but some of them aren't available as ebooks but I am determined to make room for other things .
On a hopeful note, for the first time ever the number of books in my Kindle library/Goodreads listing has gone down. I am not as willing to give authors a second or even third chance.
BTW I set my goal at 300 books, last year I went over that at 416 books read (must have been a lot of novellas).
Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true.
My goal this year is to read down the books I already have. This will be very hard to do as I love to go to the library and I absolutely adore bookstore. I picked up so many used books while I was on vacation last summer and I know I will continue to raid book stores or library sales.

I also like KMM fever series.
Pamm.......you should join Linda and me on our re-read adventure. Actually, I've already started. I'm bouncing between The Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter and Fever by Karen Marie Moning.
