I finished reading Katarine Ashe's Again, My Lord and really liked it. It is definitely a different story but does a great job of telling about the romance between Calista and Dare. I think you'd enjoy it more if you skipped the reviews and read it without knowing what to expect ahead of time. Its funny, touching, and shows the characters as they grow, especially the heroine, throughout the story. If it seems like the story goes on and on as the heroine lives one day after the other, I think the author wants you to feel her joys and frustrations. It all leads to a very satisfying hea.
I have read three books this weekend, Tweet Cute by Emma Lord a YA book that I believe was inspired the fast food twitter roasting they do to one another. This was exactly what I thought it would be, and it was not a bad read.
Fake Fiancee by Ilsa Madden-Mills this book is NA, it was a meh read for me. The relationship was fake at first and the title is a bit misleading since they start out faking that they are dating, the engagement occurs mid book. Like this was a couple that seemed to me that they ended together because the author wanted them too.
Finally I read Going nowhere fast by Kati Wilde and this book would have been my favorite if it weren't for the repeat arguments, and the H being so nice one minute but when something fell out of place he would lash out at the h. I understood he had unresolved issues he needed to deal with but his treatment of the h was horrible. Despite all that horrible treatment when he realized what he was doing (like really realized it) he gets to fixing it. I liked the book and may re-read it later in the future.
I finally finished At the Duke's Wedding that's been on my Kindle for a while. It has four novellas telling the story of romance between four couples, guests at the duke's castle. The stories are by Katharine Ashe, Caroline Linden, Maya Rodale, and Miranda Neville, so they are all good. I really didn't have a favorite but liked them all. The novellas are closely related as characters pop up from one story to the next, and the plot includes action connected to previous stories. That makes it seem more like one book rather than four separate stories. It was well-done and fun to read.

In my quest to reread all of my Jane Castle books I've also decided to reread all of my JAK and AQ books. I'm finished with the Castle books and am now reading White Lies (Arcane Society Series Book 2) by Jayne Ann Krentz. It's been very enjoyable because of the amount of time that has gone by since I read any of them. Almost like new books to me.
Oh yeah, she's addictive! Now that I think about it, been quite a while since I reread White Lies...may have to dip in there (which, of course, means a reread!)
I finished Doing No Harm by Carla Kelly and loved it. I borrowed it through KU, then bought my own copy. It was a really lovely romance and story of healing. Clean read, but I didn't even notice that until the book was over and I was thinking about my review.
I planned on reading Jo Beverley's Devilish as I'd heard a lot about Rothgar, but I decided to read the earlier books in the series first. So now I'm reading book 1, My Lady Notorious, the introduction to the Mallorens and the romance of Cyn Malloren and Lady Chastity. I'm enjoying it.
I’m reading AUSTRALIA: A Romance Anthology by Skye Warren, Penny Reid & 35 more. This is a limited edition “ romance with over THIRTY original, never-before-seen stories from bestselling and award-winning authors. Each piece was written for this anthology to benefit firefighters and wildlife in Australia.”
Some of these stories are written about characters that appear in various series by the author. If you read Susan Stoker’s story,, which is about the characters in Protecting Caroline (SEAL of Protection Book 1) — a book that pat has been free here before, and also has been in a discounted box set — afterwards, go read The Boardwalk at the author’s web site. This is a related story that she wrote a few years ago, and is also published in A Moment in Time: A Collection of Short Stories by Susan Stoker, but you can read this for free on the author’s web site. Enjoy.
I reread Stealing Midnight by Tracy MacNish today. It was ok. I remember liking it more the first time than I did this time around. It does have a trigger warning for some people, the murder of an animal. It goes into a lot of detail, too. I didn't remember it being quite so graphic. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be rereading it again. I'll have to reread a favorite to cleanse my palate, so to speak. I'm not sure what I'll go with though. Something a bit more upbeat that's for sure.
Well, instead of rereading an old favorite, I read two new to me books by a favorite author, Bronwen Evans. And I went with her Contemporary books instead of reading her Historical books. I read Heal Me and Want Me. It's book two and three of her Coopers Creek series. I also read book one, Love Me last week. I liked all three but my favorite was Want Me. The H, Chase, was a really nice guy and was a good H. After I read those, I reread an old favorite Take Me by Bella Andre. I haven't read so many Contemporaries in a row for a long time. The next book will be a Historical. I just don't know which one yet.
I finished reading Erica Ridley's Dukes, Actually, a humorous light read I enjoyed. Also a damsel-in-distress story, A Lady's Past, book 4 of a series by A. S. Fenichel. I enjoyed the story, although if you have read books with this trope, you will probably find little new here. It was well-written and had likable characters, although it dragged a bit for me near the end (waiting for the bad guy to make an appearance.) Another book I finished was Betina Krahn's new book, Anyone But A Duke, which I liked the best of these recent reads. I enjoyed all the books of Krahn's series.
