I started reading Driven by desire by Nikita Slater and youza! The H definitely fits this board. He's very intense and focused on the h. The h is a smart mouthed mechanic who talks back to him, resists the relationship, runs from him, argues with him, etc. If you don't like this type of h, nor bantering between the H and h, you'll hate this book but if you do - this might be a treat for you. I'm 58% in and they just barely had sex. Also, the H is a feared mafia boss and ruthless in getting what he wants & he wants the h! Loving it so far.
This book is no longer free but it's available on KU and I can loan my copy as well.

summer49 - Me too! That's my favorite type of h. This h definitely has a backbone. Have you read Nikita Slater before? Her H's are cavemen OTT j/p, very intense, non-pc, stalkererish and are bad guys. Forced seduction, chasing h when she runs away and forcing the relationship on her are common.
Have you read A Promise of Fire ? This is a 3 book series. The h is very strong, independent and doesn't give into the H easily. He kidnaps her and ties her to him with a magical rope. It's a fantasy romance and the relationship building is excellent! It's not instant love. She hates him at first. The sex doesn't happen until the end of book 1 but it's still exciting due to the dialogue and the H's possessive behavior. Book 3 comes out in January. This series has been on sale a few times and I'm sure it will again.
Since we like the same type of h, if you think of any books that have a j/p H and a strong h, I would love some recs.

Yes I have read Prisoner of Fortune (Fire & Vice #1) by Nikita Slater. I remember it being an ok read, lacked character development due to being a novella but I certainly felt author had potential. Clearly she has! No I haven't read A Promise of Fire so thanks for the recommendation, will definitely check it out. Generally I don't like instant sex so another tick for me!
Anna Zaires and Addison Cain are two authors that I can recommend if you don't mind dark romances.

I got it when it was free too. I can loan as well. Will you do a review when finished? I don't like cheating so I welcome spoilers.

Sure. For whatever reason, I thought I had done a review but I didn't. I'll be happy to post one but it'll probably be tomorrow before I can get to it.
