Does social media affect your reading of authors?

Sherry - I'm 48 so I understand what you're saying about going back in time. My two youngest kids can't believe there was a time when the Internet wasn't around. I tell them I vividly remember when the Internet first began and they're like "what?" Lol.

I don't follow any authors on twitter, just FB. I've never been offended by an author ("knock on wood") but I only started following some this year. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen to me because I would feel like you do. I wouldn't want to support someone who offended me.

It's happened just recently. With Isabel Wroth. She equates booklending sites such as lendle or booklending as piracy. They all go through amazon so it's not piracy but she is opposed to it. I use those sites all the time to borrow books all the time. I also lend on both of them. There was a post on amazon about it so I went and read her post on facebook. 

She has her books lending enabled and she gets pisses because they are being lent. Crazy!!

It makes me not want to buy her books anymore though I will because I love the Sarazen books.

I sell my paperbacks on ebay all the time.

It would be irritating if I couldn't sell them. I also buy a lot at thrift stores and yard sales.

I have never agreed with the DRM policy at all. Just because a book is digital it shouldn't be treated any differently. I would not post a book on a pirate site but I think I should be able to give it to a couple of friends if they want to read it just as I would a dtb.

DRM is digital rights management. It's what they put on the ebook that won't let anyone else read it on their devices.

It basically says the book is for you and you alone. If you don't want the book anymore delete it. Can't give it away. Can't sell it.

I agree Dennie that the rules for books should be the same.
