War of Hearts
This is the first book in the True Immortality series. It's about Thea who is super strong, and holds healing powers but she has no idea what she is or why she has these supernatural abilities. Along for the rise is Conall who is an alpha werewolf of a small pack in Scotland, he's super strong but his supernatural ability (that stands out against the rest) is he is able to scent anyone anywhere once he is given something of theirs.
Thea has been on the run for years and now Conall was hired to hunt her and bring her back in order for her to pay for supposed crimes she committed against a human man and his family.
This is a slow-burn romance that isn't for everyone. The book is more of a tell instead of show kind of story, the action scenes are explained instead of the author taking us along for the ride. So if you want some action packed paranormal fantasy this is not the book for you. Something I quite enjoy.
I didn't mind it, despite the way the story is told I enjoyed this particular book. A solid 3 star read.
Thea who has amazing abilities does suffer more than she should as someone who is that powerful her downside and weakness is that she does not know how strong she is, and Conall who despite almost being engaged, a convenience thing that was never made into an actual engagement; but plans were left hanging until he did the job for the man looking for Thea, has an attraction to Thea that he's fighting for a looong time.
Read it if you don't mind the telling and little to no action and quick fix to the villain/s.
