I finished Kate Bateman's To Catch an Earl, which, I'm sure, is a deliberate reference to the classic movie, "To Catch A Thief." Our hero works for Bow Street and our heroine is a thief. It kept me up way too late reading.
bonnieg, I may have to read that one just to find out why the name "Nightjar" for the notorious thief! My instinctive thought for that word is...isn't that what you use rather than go to the outhouse during the night?!?
I finished reading Her Wicked Marquess by Stacy Reid. It was so good! I stayed up till 4:30 tis morning to finish it. I couldn't put it down. It's definitely my favorite book of the month so far.

Ha. I like the way you think. I honestly can't remember what the story says "Nightjar" means, but I know the heroine of the story likes to collect words for which there is no English translation, like the little space between your eyebrows over your nose. Some language, which I can't remember, has a name for that, which I also can't remember. But it was interesting, I think. I did like the story a lot. I do remember that.

Soooo good. It's been ages since I enjoyed a book like I did this one. I want more like this 😢

Me too. She's been one of my favorite authors the past few years. I enjoyed her previous release just as much, When the Earl Met His Match.
Finished Michelle Diener’s The Turncoat King (The Rising Wave Book 1) that released yesterday, and thought it was very good. (I’m still hoping for more books in her Class 5 Series, though, especially given that her short story in Pets in Space 5 left a lot of openings for following up on Rose, Dav, and Szabo. ETA: This is available on KU.

I'm just finishing Jayne Ann Krentz's All The Colors Of The Night. It's taken me a bit longer to finish but I've been busy! I have to say I am/did enjoy it!

I, too, would like more Class 5 stories. I'd like to read the short story and will hope for a sale on the anthology.
Finished reading Perfectly Adequate by Jewel E Ann which I picked up earlier in the week on sale. It was an ok read for me,I didnt really feel that the hero and heroine had much chemistry, hero couldnt seem to make up his mind on who he preferred, the heroine or the ex wife, he was too wishy washy for my tastes. Heroine was great, a strong independent woman living with ASD. Author writes well so kept my interest but wont be a reread.

I finished another Lynn Messina romantic mystery, A Scandalous Deception, book 2 in her series Beatrice Hyde-Clare Mysteries. The heroine is still at her smart, sassy best, and the hero is still the handsome, wealthy, powerful Duke. They work together to solve yet another mystery, and their relationship progresses smoothly, but slowly. You don't need to read book 1 first as the author tells a lot about that murder in this book. There is a bit of inner dialogue that Beatrice engages in that some reviewer don't care for, but I find it entertaining. So now I'm on to book 3.
BTY, Banana Boat, you probably noticed the heroine's name Hyde-Clare is amazingly similar to Highclere, one of the castles listed in your "Interesting Tidbits" posts. We know as Downton Abbey, of course.
Just finished Nalini Singh's Alpha Night, which had been sitting in my TBR pile since it came out last year! I enjoyed it - more than some of the other Trinity installments - but I have to say that mostly I'm just super duper hoping there's going to be a book for Nikita Duncan. I totally wiffed on this series when the first books were coming out and basically inhaled the whole series a few years ago, so maybe I'm missing critical fandom info, but man, I've been hoping for a Nikita Duncan and Anthony Kyriakus pairing since... like... forever it feels like, and the build up on psynet viruses in this book makes it seem like she might get a bigger role somewhere down the line in the series (I hope!)
Otherwise, I think I'm now reading this series more for the world-building than for the romances themselves.

I did notice that and wondered if it was a play on words.

kareni, I think I can loan you Pets in Space 5, since it shows up as being lendable. I know that Pets in Space 2 discounted before it became unavailable, but I don’t believe that any of the later volumes did. I intended to purchase volume 3, whether or not it dropped in price, but I was busy with work at the time, and missed the January last sale date. Once these volumes are no longer on sale for kindle, they’re no longer lendable. The current volume has Reaper(Xian Warriors 7) if you’re a fan of that series by Regine Abel.

What a kind offer, ariane; thank you! I'd be delighted to borrow the book.
I don't believe I've read anything by Regine Abel. I take it that you like her work?
