I am revisiting really old friends, I found a file in an old external hard drive that has a bunch of fanfiction I downloaded and saved (with the permission of the authors who asked not to distribute them as their only condition to download them) so I put them in my kindle and now I am reading the stuff I liked as a teenager. I don't remember reading a lot of fanfiction but I have fifteen of those suckers in this folder. Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfics opened my eyes to the paranormal romance world.
Last book I read was Shipped by Angie Hockman it was an okay read solid 3.5 stars from me.
I still read Star Trek Voyager fanfiction. Since the producers would never put Captain Janeway and Commander Chakotay together, we fans are left to do it.
I've been in a fantasy mood. After finishing a reread of several Pern novels, I'm restarting my all-time favorite series, Dragon Prince by Melanie Rawn.
I would be ecstatic if David and Leigh Eddings' books were released in ebook format, but it hasn't happened. I'm thinking of digging out my paperback copies of The Belgariad and The Malloreon series next.
Spanning Worlds, Askara World bk 3 by J M Link an alien SF Romance. I tried very, very hard to like it but I couldnt get past the long convoluted sentences, there were chunks that just didnt make sense to me. The need to frequently reread paragraphs made for a jarring read. I had the same problem with bk 2 which I ended up skimming, I thought I was just not in the mood when I read that one but find I now have the same problem with bk 3. I am in the minority, has been highly rated on Amazon so might just be me? Shame as I really remember enjoying bk 1. Glad it was KU read.

Isn't it always up to us?! lol!! I was a Spike (not just for a romantic partner but his character in my opinion was the best of the best when it came down to it) fan more so than Riley and Angel. Marsters Spike was fun. I think I'm going to re-watch the show all over again, lol!
I only read Shipped because it was the book club's pick this month, everyone else gave it 4 solid stars they enjoyed that it was more of a misunderstanding start to their romance than enemies to lovers. They were both two hurt people who were hiding behind a shield of self preservation due to past relationships. I just hated the one dimensional boss who was the villain in this story and it was very predictable what he was doing, and the way the problem was resolved.
Just reread Thankless in Death (#37). Went in to just dip in...reread the stuff about the awards--being told about them & offered the captaincy; her telling Roarke about his award (Laughing!!!), and the actual ceremony. Of course, I reread the whole book. I've now moved to Concealed In Death (#38) but I'm also wanting the Christmas part so will probably reread Festive In Death (#39)...I get so tickled at her shopping! Not unusual for me to reread lots of In Death just before the new one releases....NEXT TUESDAY!!!

I loved Roarke's reaction! If I remember correctly his family from Ireland showed up as they were coming for Thanksgiving (?) or was it Christmas? Anyway I need to start my JD Robb retread marathon!

They were coming in for Thanksgiving & they were supposed to arrive about the time of the presentation. Instead, Someshit (Thanks, Bella, I laugh every time I think of this name for Summerset) arranged for them to get there in time to be at the presentation ceremony. I think this is the 2nd time they've come for Thanksgiving; seems to be becoming a tradition, combining with the rest of the group that comes. I wondered if they set up for dinner in the ballroom; it seemed like such a large group in this one! (can you tell I just finished rereading Thankless?)
Yep, Das, Ork, Someshit, Nab...I'm trying to remember if she has a version of Galahad...apparently she's still (last check I think was in Treachery) having trouble with Peabody. I like Cak for Crack as well!
Sad to have finished the The Confluence by S K Dunstall. This was a very good trilogy I enjoyed listening to. Maybe one day they might continue with the series...would love to have met the aliens which developed the line technology. Maybe one day.
Also completed Stray by Andrea K Host the first book in the Touchstone series. I was a bit nervous starting this one as heroine was only 18 so book aimed at a younger audience but this one grabbed me, characters were mature so I had no issues with it. Its good SF and I would have loved this as a teenager. Will get the other books in the series as want to know how it all ends. Thanks to kareni and ariane for recommending this series.

I's reading Sarah M. Eden's The Gentleman and the Thief, book 2 of the Proper Romance series. These clean romances are humorous and entertaining with characters from all different walks of life. Like the first book, The Lady and the Highwayman, Eden includes chapters of two penny dreadfuls, one written by our hero, Hollis, and the other by Elizabeth, the h from book two. Some might not like the idea of 3 stories going at once, but the penny dreadfuls are short inclusions and show the authors' personalities at work, besides being fun. Not the usual Regency romance. I would suggest reading the books in order, if you're interested.
I've finished the new j d robb: Faithless in Death. Really enjoyed it, esp. one development (no spoilers!) but did get a bit bogged down in the planning of an op--just wasn't seeing it at first, I guess. Currently, I've opened another Cora Seton: Cowboy Wins a Bride (Cowboys of Chance Creek #2). Not the series I was reading a while back, but related so "I'm back in the saddle again..." (and be glad you're not hearing my voice crooning that--I always sing flat!)
Almost finished with Sarah M. Eden's The Gentleman and the Thief and enjoying it, I decided to make a change. Out of the blue, I got the urge to read Stephanie Laurens' Devil's Bride, a book I've read several times and enjoyed. I'm not sure if the book was mentioned somewhere and that put the suggestion in my mind, but I'm enjoying it once again and will go back to the ending of Eden's book as I'm really enjoying that also. Why not.
Enjoyed reading Claimed by the Alien by Tiffany Roberts. This quicker read had a Christmas theme and at times it was maybe a bit too sweet. I fell in love with the characters, a hardworking mum doing her best and a sexy(and awkward at times) hero who tried very hard to win over his mate. Not as good as the Kraken series but it did leave me in a good mood, a 3.5/5 read for me.
Also finished listening to Leviathan Wakes by James A Corey. This is SF with no romance, I did not like any of the characters (especially the two main males heroes who both irritated me). The story seemed to drag but I did like the last 3hrs, which left me a bit conflicted on whether to try another book to see if it improves. Maybe one day. For me this was a 2.5/5 but I am in the minority.
