The Trouble w/ a Dare (bk#6)**** gave it 2 stars of 5
A blond aristo seduced a baron's dtr Grace. She learned she was pregnant and he refused to marry her.
An Oxford educated gent farmer, Sterling, knew she was with child and wed her. He had a prosperous
farm. He felt inferior to her. He moved his prickly mother in a cottage within walking distance.
He was strong/ silent type. He did manual work when he did not have to (he had enough staff). The pace
of this was mostly slow. Grace apologized too much. Husband became defensive when she read up on
farming and animal husbandry. People exchanged letters in this story-I was clueless about who were most
of these folks? and how were they connected?
The best aspects 1) prickly Mom softened a tad 2) Grace told off the nameless blond aristo who visited to
see the baby.
Dare to Risk It All (bk #7)**** gave it 2 of 5 stars
Raphe, a baron, was sober X 3 months. He resolved to show more restraint around women. Then Greer
came to his bestie's home for Christmas. Dare + wife hosted this. Greer was too forward w/ the H & threw
herself @ him. This became insta-lust, not a fav trope of mine.
IMO better books by this author: One Wicked Winter, Persuading Patience, This Girl is Not for Christmas.
