Rev. Shackelford had 8 daughters (3 of marriage age). He was too blunt and enjoyed alcohol at the local tavern w/
his curate. Nicholas (former Navy man) told Rev. he'd marry one of his dtrs. At the end of the week, Nick wed Grace.
Soon after Nick went alone to Scotland. Nick had wartime experience flashbacks.
Nick heard rumors about Grace and he made assumptions and cut her off. Talk to her big guy!
(2) Faith bk #3 3 stars also. Kisses only.
Romance + mystery. Rev. S & dtr Faith are sent to a rented seaside home by his sons-in-laws. Rev. had recovered
already from a gun wound and needed to just relax. Rev. had no filter on what he said. Later his curate Percy joined
them.
Capt. Roan Carew was at sea. Someone went into his empty home, near the temporary abode of the Shacklefords.
Rev. encouraged Faith to snoop there and she found something gross. Rev + dtr were invited to the home of
powerful Joseph Carew, a baron, no relation to the H. Joseph's son Jared had some nasty things to say about his
Aunt Lydia (married to a titled man) who disappeared 30 yrs ago & was never found.
The MCs bantered but sometimes the H was too blunt/ harsh. The mystery unraveled nicely, but the story had too
many baddies.
