if anyone likes medieval romances, Amazon recommended Alice Coldbreath to me, and I found myself enjoying her very much.
I have all of her books, and recommend her books on all the forums I follow. I loved the 1st book - Her Baseborn Bridegroom, but my favourite H is in Book 2. He's such a controlling grump, manipulative and unpleasant and then he says and does certain things with the h, that made me swoon. Such a great writer.
If you are interested another recommendation is Annabelle Anders. My favourite book is Lady Saves the Duke Book 3 in the series. I have read this book 3 times recently, it has just the right amount of grumpy H to angst h.

I love cranky Hs with hearts of gold! What I love about Coldbreath is her plots always appeal, and her heroines are right up my alley, sweet, ordinary types.

Checking out Annabelle Anders, and Hell's Belle is the awesomest book title I have seen in a while!
Beatrice Goes to Brighton (Traveling Matchmakers #4) by Marion Chesney, AKA the late MC Beaton Kisses only rom w/ humor.
The Earl & the Mud-Covered Maiden by GL Robinson Kisses only. An earl and a beauty w/ a threadbare cloak. She stood up to him when others were disinclined to do so.

I have been soooo disappointed in too many HRs so thanks for listing ones I've not read and will check these out!
Here comes the sun even though I love that rainy day feeling!

For anyone looking for a great historical romance, I just read Marry in Scandal by Anne Gracie. I really liked the heroine, she's very young, sweet and more than she first seems. The writing, characters and story were enthralling, and it's kindle price is much reduced on Amazon. I have the other books in the series on my wish list.

Thanks for the recommendation; that book is available in our library through Overdrive, so I just borrowed it.
Just finished a great book by Eva Devon. The spinster and the rake. This was a 5 star read for me, and while some of the themes might be somewhat modern/current day, to me they felt right given the context of families and their characters. I loved it and will buy more from this author as I thought the writing was great.
Found a new author today, Elizabeth Bright. I didn't realise that I was reading book 4 in a series, so am about to buy the 1st book.
I thought the writing was great, the plot references fear of dying in child birth but there is a wonderful epilogue - so not a trigger, just some angst. The Duke's Wicked Wife I don't think the title is quite right, as the heroine is wonderful and like the Duke, she's not perfect. I loved that he thought she was, for him.
Update: 15th March - bought and read book 1 - Twice as Wicked, and it was so much fun. Virgin H, and the heroine is trying to may him pay for her twin sister's seduction and death during childbirth, and the child died too. Hmmm, obviously there's a lot more to the plot. Loved it, and about to start book 2.
Traditional Romance w/ 3 romance couples (who developed) at a house party. Wealthy Rowley confused 2 sisters: he wanted the vivacious one, not the shy one. Women flocked to his attractive male cousin, but his best friend most considered an acquired taste due to his sarcasm & cynical ways.
