OK, so I know that this peeve is ridiculous and shallow but what is up with all the beards? Especially the long, crazy, ZZ Top beards. I am guessing they are in style and women find them sexy but no....just no...
A nicely trimmed, well-groomed beard is maybe ok but those full beards? I don't like them.

I think about this too, lol.
Yes and what is worse they describe, quite vividly, what gets caught in the beard after certain intimacies..... doesn't sound hygienic to me.
Yes! I know I dnf'd a couple of books because of those descriptions. I can read about a lot of pretty questionable things and get past it, but the beard contents during sex was where I drew a line.
I have a rave: I feel more comfortable posting here, because the down voters are not here.
Rant: Following along the same line as beards grossing some of us out, there are some things I just DO NOT find sexy - rimming, having the H force himself down the h's throat to the point of gaging and not letting her breath and then saliva runs down her chin. This is just not sexy to me AT ALL. There, I feel better now.

Exactly! I totally agree. Or a huge no no for me is oral sex. The h works her 8 hour shift, comes home and smexes the H, hero goes down on her and tastes ambrosial! Sorry...I don’t think so. Please bathe before oral sex!

OMG, yes! I was reading a book the other day where one of the guys shoved his thumb in the h's rear then sniffed it and licked it. Instant DNF.....not only was it repulsive but possible hepatitis is not sexy. Also what is up with the gagging and saliva? I'm finding that a lot lately in books. Also, there seems to be an increased number of fellatio scenes. I get that there should be some as some women like to read this and there may be the occasional male reader but when those scenes out number other intamacies I have to wonder if I am the targeted demographic.
My 20 year old son has a long beard. I don't remember what he looks like! If the H has a beard in the book, I shave it off for him because the last thing I want to think about while reading a romance book is my son!
Haha..... I feel your pain. Whenever a character is named Blake it makes me think of my brother. Definitely not what I want to think about when reading romance.

I dnf'd and then deleted a book once because the h had the same name as our granddaughter. She was 2 at the time. She has an uncommon name so luckily that has only happened one time so far. It tried to ignore it and keep reading, but I just couldn't do it. I never even mde it to any sort of intimate scenes. Thankfully.
My son's name is unusual and I think I have only come across it once but I stopped reading and blocked the book from my consciousness. Can't read it. Or think about it.

Count me in on the rant as well - I hate that sorta stuff and find it gross too. That sort of stuff seems like, to me anyway, far more fantasy porny crap that men want to watch rather than sexy/loving/romantic erotic stuff that women want to read. Actually to me, there's far more to erotic stuff than tonnes of just super "hard core" sex acts - some of the stuff I found really incredibly sexy and truly erotic were quite innocent in how explicit the things were (emotional connections, and - ya know - what's going on in the characters' heads, a small physical touch that has huge meaning in the story context, etc). Constantly pushing the envelope and trying to outdo everyone in relation to the amount of porn-script sex acts doesn't always make for a sexy or erotic read.

I agree though I have read some extremely explicit books where the relationship and or the message was so good that I really enjoyed it. It wasn't just hardcore sex dumped into the story for shock value or cheap thrills but instead explored extreme naughtiness within the bounds of a loving relationship. What you describe above seems to be prevalent in a lot of books and leaves me cold. I would take fade to black with developed relationships and scorching chemistry over that any day.

Neeta, I agree. If the sexual chemistry and tension are good that first kiss between the H and h can be combustible.
