I read the first bunch of brotherhood books but by the time it got to Phury's book I was burnt out and the book itself sucked major balls but I do have a question that didn't get answered or if it did, I skipped over that part.
So the question: Phury had to rescue his brother and in doing so lost his leg and made a vow of celibacy? Is that right? How old was he when he did this (the celibacy part) and was he experienced already and just gave it up? Can anyone tell me why he would do that? I get the whole being a martyr, drugs, blah blah whine whine but why and how did he decide to say: I'm never having sex again!! What was the point he was trying to make? I say trying because I never really noticed anybody other than him giving a rat's ass if he had sex or not so what was he doing? I would go back and read again but it was torture getting through his book the first time and I can't do it but this has always bothered me. Thanks!
I don't remember his exact reasons for staying celibate, but I'm pretty sure he was a virgin when he finally had sex with a hooker in a bathroom. I remember so many people not happy, that it was so cheap for a good virgin H (you don't get many of those) to lose his virginity in such a way. Where it didn't have any meaning.
I THINK (don't remember for sure) that a lot of the reason he didn't have sex was because he was so busy taking care of his brother. He gave up a lot for Z. That's why I hated the way Z treated Phury in Phury's book. After everything his brother did for him, he was just going to turn his back on him like that? "Oh, now that I'm doing good and have a great woman and baby, I don't have the time to help you through your issues." Bah.
Yes Phury was being a full time whiner, baby, idiot. But Z didn't exactly win brother of the year award either.
Thanks, Telynn! I thought maybe I skipped over the part where it made any sense to anyone. Did Z even know? He seemed to be pretty much out of it most of the time. How much of Phury's time could he really take up? Phury seemed to spend most of his time smoking up and moaning over everything. Can you tell I don't like his character? I do think he got screwed by the author tho.

Oh hell yeah - I've often said that Phury, Cormia and we readers got totally gypped! I'd been soooo looking forward to him getting a book, and THAT's what we ended up with??? A whiney baby who was obsessed with his brother's woman (poor ole Cormia was definitely an "oh well can't have who I want, so you'll have to do" type of heroine - at least compared to previous ones). The core romance, the absolute alphas, the daffy-duck "mine, mine, mine all mine" love for the heroines, that won me over in the earlier books took a huge punch to the face here. The beginning of the end for me - from here onward, the only bright spot was Rehv's book.
