On the Island is a favourite re-read of mine. Just love this book and the age different didn't bother me at all. I think it probably didn't bother me as much because of where their intimacy started. They were stranded on an island without ever thinking they would get rescued.
traveladdie - I enjoyed when they were on the island the most. The story of their survival was well done and rivoting. (Hence why I'm looking for more stranded on a deserted island romance.)
I was almost sad when they were rescued. The follow-up book was not as good. The author is really growing as a writer. Loved her last book.
traveladdie - I felt the same. The dynamic of the book changed once they were rescued. The island portion of the book was the best part. Oh, and I did love the ending. It was perfect!

I avoided On the Island for a long time because I normally don't care for older woman/younger man romances and teacher/student romances. (As a teacher, that is an absolute no no and really upsets me.) BUT buddies at Amazon kept recommending it. I finally caved... Well, I loved it. The story was so real, especially all the conflicts they faced when they came back to the "real world." If TJ hadn't truly matured far beyond his years, the romance wouldn't have worked. I believed that they could love and live together for the long haul. On the Island is definitely the most surprising choice on my Keeper shelf. P.S. I also enjoyed Baby Jane Doe. (I'm a huge Julie Miller fan.)
