Just catching up on all of my bookmark threads as to your ? I know without remembering which HR's but not unusual for large age differences between both parties. There were many HRs where the H is mid to late 30s and h 18-20 yrs old. I guess it became acceptable as in real life moc were made with young h and H old enough to be their father/grandfather.
The older men thought the young ladies were lucky to make this advantageous match? ML
ML
So they thought, while the young women was trying to find a way to not be married to them. lol I'm sure there are several HRs where the young women runs away from home to be a governess to a widowed arrogrant duke's children and then the Duke finds he is besotted with the governess and feels there is nothing he can do about it because of their class distinction, not knowing the governess is really a daughter of another Duke, Marquess, Earl, Viscount or even a Baronet. LOL

Oh wow! That's an interesting premise.
I read it years ago and thought it was a very good book. The audio is good as well.
Buy Me Sir (Jade West). H is 44 years old. h is 19. She's his housekeeper but he doesn't know it, he thinks she's someone else. He's a divorcée without children, has suicidal throughts but never carries them out. This book has elements of BDSM.
Monster In His Eyes Trilogy (J.M. Darhower). He's 42 (I think) and she's 22. She's a college student and he's a shady guy from the mafia but she doesn't know this until much later. He has a vendetta on her family.
Four Crows (Lily White). H want's revenge on h's father. She's the same age as H son (but H son is dead) so I think he's at least like sixteen years older than her.
Thanks i just read Buy Me Sir and it's not at all my normal type of book i would go for but i couldn't put it down. Im going to give Monster In His Eyes a try now. I see its part of a series.
Ive just read Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas and it was fantastic. H is 38 and h is 19 so a fairly large age gap. h is dating H son and they move into his house.

Wow you just read my mind thinking how to find a good OM/YW bk to read! Thanks for posting this bk and heading to Amazon right now!
If you enjoy that ive also just finished her book Misconduct which i discovered after reading Birthday Girl. The age gap is not so dramatic around 13/14 years i think it was. Another good one from her. I like it when i find OM/YW books that aren't always historical or bdsm.

Thanks for another rec and put on my wish list. Love your avatar..too cute..I am a cat person with a dog! My moniker on here "Natasha" was the name of one of my 3 late cats. Natasha lived to be 19. My avatar is my rescue dog Lola.

For Carole Mortimer fans, Passionate Winter is now available in ebook. I missed the release back in November and came across it on the library site yesterday. This was her first published book for Harlequin back in 1978 and features an 18 year old h and the father of her friend. This author is a master at the alphahole H, and by today's standards they run much more toward a-hole. If you are familiar with the Harlequin Presents line, you will know what I mean.
I don't like the term "guilty pleasure" but these old HP's fit the definition for me. I shouldn't like them because the H's are often bordering on cruel in their jealous/possessive behavior, and the h's can be unbelievably doormat-ish at times. The books are formulaic and utterly predictable most of the time. Still, they are like my crack. I need my HP fix once in a while, and Carole Mortimer wrote some real doozies with May/December couples, starting with Passionate Winter. If you decide to read it, bear in mind it was written in 1978.
