I saw a stand up comic once who asked the audience "You want to know what's the matter with the people in the United States? I'll show you. How many of you can name the Secretary of Defense?" One or two people answer half-heartedly. "How many of you can name the pig from 'Green Acres'?" Most of the room shouts out "Arnold!" "THAT'S what's wrong with this country!"
You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.
BB-New York, New York was written for Liza Minnelli! I am probably the only person that truly dislikes Sinatra's voice. Give me Dean Martin and Sammy Davis anytime!
Here comes the sun even though I love that rainy day feeling!

LOL-I never watched Green Acres but I do remember the name of the pig!!!!!LOL Also the name made an impression on me because the first boy I had a crush on was my next door neighbor and his name was Arnold.

IMO no one could compete with Ms. Garland's voice. One of my fav singers in classic movies is Jane Powell who just passed @the age of 92.
Really strange but while writing this I am streaming and a car commercial came on with a song performed and recorded by Jane Powell!!!!!!! I've never heard this song anywhere other than the movie she starred in.
I was introduced to Liza Minnelli by a friend who hosted her @her home and found her to be very friendly. We didn't discuss show business or her mother. I appreciate everyone's privacy and also could care less about celebrities, except for their ability.

Yrs ago Burt Reynolds interviewed 3 actresses, including Jane Powell. They spoke of movies, co-stars etc. Burt asked Jane- what did she think of Howard Keel (both did 7 Brides for 7 Bros) & she replied "he was tall." LOL!!! Jane the diplomat?
Okay, first look at this one threw me for a loop---what was that long stretch of flesh---all his leg? And where was it coming from? Took me a bit to sort it all out! Maybe I'm just slow this morning.... ETA after loading the picture, in my defense, a lot bigger here than on the Amazon page!

The problem is her leg is almost the same color as his arm (and that distracting handless section of white forearm takes a moment to sort out). Why is her top half lily white but her bottom half tanned??
