My mother knit all the time. She'd make beautiful shawls for each of my formal gowns in high school. I remember when I was about 13 or so she knit this beautiful pink mohair turtleneck sweater for me and I thought I was so cool.
How about: Working overtime and barely having enough time to bathe before your alarm is going off early the next morning. (the only bit of free time being able to read a little bit is lunch where people interrupt)
Don't they know there are books that need to be read, HEA's to enjoy? Cute-meets to smile about, a dog that needs his cuddles, a comfy chair that needs to make me comfy and a book that's feeling neglected? That hot cocoa, coffee or tea that needs to be sipped slowly as you read a sentence, trying not to spill, is missing me...
This making a living stuff and paying bills is taking a toll on my reading life.

linviolet, That brings back memories! I retired a bit early and am soooooo glad! Its taken me almost 2 years to figure out that I now have 7 days to do what I use to cram into 2 days! I still have problems slowing down.

I do that now, if I am at home, and not visiting friends or having a girls weekend, and I feel like when I do have the time later on in life I will be reading faster than books being published. LOL! Sweet-tart sometimes looks at my books funny if I am holding a paperback and it's not the same one I was reading earlier.
