I just finished Unexpected (The Protectors Book 10) by Sloane Kennedy. While some of the books in this series have been better than others, I really liked this one.
Next, I plan to read Strong Enough by Melanie Harlow.

Just finished Fishy Riot - Lindsey Black, which was just the kind of cheesy goodness I was looking for, so I am now reading Rhino Ash - Lindsey Black, which is just as entertaining. If you're looking for something ridiculous and amusing and OTT, these books are for you, as long as you leave your thinking cap at the cover.
Woke up this morning with a terrific urge to lie in bed all day and read. - Raymond Carver
Recently read and quite enjoyed In The Absence Of Light by Adrienne Wilder which is a contemporary male/male romance. One of the heroes is an artist/bus boy who is autistic; the other hero is a man who was a smuggler.

A few recent reads.... I had a horrible case of the flu in January so my reading was down a bit and mostly nonfiction.
The Tyack & Frayne Mysteries (8 Book Series) I picked up book 1 on an impulse and it was just easier to continue while I wasn’t feeling well. In general, I liked ‘em. Characters showed a lot of growth, I liked the supporting cast, and I enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed. I think the paranormal elements were OTT and bordering on ridiculous in book 7. I haven’t read the last one yet. I do think they’re overpriced for the length but I’ll prob reread.
Dream: A Skins Novel I’ve liked/loved a lot of hers but this didn’t quite work. I kinda felt like I was reading a book 2 and I’m not sure why—all the characters and circumstances were explained but there was just something a bit off. Also, I didn’t feel their connection and the ending was way too pat. Just an average read.
Tribute Act (Porthkennack Book 8) Eh, good premise but the setup was a bit unbelievable and overall just kinda meh. Not bad but not a reread and not particularly memorable.
HeartShip (Full Hearts Book 1) Some cute moments and I liked the interactions of the football players even though they were probably unlikely. Also liked the “aging twink” idea. Still, too insta love and everything worked out too easily. Decent quick read for the price, I guess, but really nothing special.
How to Bang a Billionaire (Arden St. Ives) Alexis Hall. Nope, nope nope. I didn’t really mean to start this just because the 3rd book doesn’t come out until August. The story was average and nothing special imo but some very distracting similarities to FSOG: Almost same ages Billionaire and university student Younger h stumbles into the boardroom/office Billionaire H gives him an expensive phone and access to $ Contractual “relationship” because he can’t be in a real one BDSM elements The excerpt for book 2 implies there’s a family friend with whom the billionaire had/has an inappropriate relationship
I only read FSOG once and that was a few years ago so there might even be more similarities I missed.
It wasn’t horrible but I don’t think I’ll reread and I’m not sure I’ll continue the series.
Fresh Catch Eh, cute but nothing special, imo. A few niggling character inconsistencies for one H that were distracting but overall a decent read...just very typical. I did appreciate that small spoiler
— I enjoyed the contemporary romance Small Change by Roan Parrish. (She often writes m/m romance but this was a romance with a woman (bi) and a man.
— I enjoyed the male/male paranormal romance Off the Beaten Path by Cari Z.
–a pleasant male/male romance which happens to be currently free to Kindle readers: My Partner the Wolf (shifters and partners Book 1) by Hollis Shiloh. While I enjoyed this, I felt it could have been shorter.
Pretty in Pink (Housemates Book 6) This caught my eye even though I have absolutely no business picking up anything new. Fairly strong start but the last third-ish had too much wishy-washy back and forth from both characters and even though there was an epilogue, it still felt a bit rushed. Probably because other than the first chapter and the epilogue, I think the whole book takes place in about two weeks.
