I'm also reading Disasterology 101 for my heavy book, since it's about someone with heavy OCD.
I quit reading Taylor V. Donovan after he has kept up waiting for the 3rd Six Degrees to be written. Been waiting for years for it to come out and it's been delayed and delayed. It teed me off real bad. He is a really good writer but I refuse to read or buy anything by him anymore.
I just finished the new Mary Calmes - Twisted and Tied. It's a typical Calmes book. Nothing real special but it was nice to see the Marshals again. They are pretty hunky!
I read Lucy Lennox's newest book in the Wildes series. Wilde Fire: A Forever Wilde Novel The MCs from the first 2 books in the series make appearances in this second chance romance. Now to wait for the next book.
I wanted to throw in something light and fun and started Served Hot. It's not as light as it seems, though, and pretty slow-burn.
The first couple of books in that series were decent, but I quickly got tired of them by book 3 and 4. They seemed to get cheesier with each book until it was basically like reading women with male names. I hate when authors do that.

I like cheesy sometimes. I was pretty much expecting it with this one, too.

I get in those moods, too. I have a few favorite cheesy rereads.

jiffsmom, did you like Wilde Fire? I know I'll be buying that soon since I liked both books in this series but I don't want it to get lost in the shuffle so I'll wait to buy it until I have time to read it (wow, I sound so grown-up there). Just wondering what you thought of it. I'm thinking good since you're already looking forward to the next book!

Yes, I liked it. To me, Lucy Lennox's books are like a hug. It did not seem as contrived as Felix and the Prince (which I liked anyway), but it did have a few too many negative happenings to be realistic and some of the new characters introduced were a little one dimensional. I expect they will be fleshed out in later books. Don't be too quick to grow up. Adulting can suck until you retire.
I posted my entire list in a different thread, but here are the male/male romances I recently read:
–- enjoyed Shadow’s Edge: Psychic Detective Mysteries by S.C. Wynne, a mystery romance featuring two men one of whom is (surprise!) a psychic. There were a few elements that strained credulity, but overall it was a fun story (if you look past the fact that a number of young men were getting killed).
— the contemporary male/male romance Loud and Clear by Aidan Wayne. This could be described as a sweet romance.

The Little Library Disappointing. In one scene, the H mocks a romance book that someone leaves in his little library. The book features a half naked cowboy on the cover so of course the story is “cliche” and nothing like “real life”. He then rushes to put some gay fiction in his library to show true “diversity” and maybe then that cowboy wll “discover he really prefers men”. I dunno...I know characters and/or their thoughts are not necessarily a portrayal of the author but this scene left a bad taste for me. It could have been a scene about celebrating the experiences of different readers and the joy of reading but I felt it was disparaging people who read MF books. I freely admit there’s truth in the cliches of the romance genre but I still didn’t like the scene. YMMV.
Cardboard supporting cast and a ridiculous villain of an ex. Some awkward dialogue and their relationship felt kinda tepid. We’re told it’s the hottest sex of his life but I didn’t feel the passion or tension...they seemed to drift into a relationship. The ending was waaay too pat.
Because of course the one H has a young relative pregnant by a ONS. She doesn’t want to keep the baby and, with no sign of anguish, wants to hand it over to the new couple. No mention of the bio father cuz it would be too complicated in this rosy scenario. I guess some cliches are okay:(
It’s not a horrible book, rant aside. Just very typical. Something mindless for a quick read.
There’s a couple of 4 star reviews up so different strokes for different folks:)
eta can loan Really, as I’ve posted before, I don’t mind if anyone wants to borrow anything I’ve posted about. If it’s available, I’m happy to loan. It just seems silly to add the offer in every post.

I had read some other reviews that were not thrilled with this book. A couple of them implied it was a lot shallower and sillier than is typical for this author.
