Mine favorite series is Vampires in America by D B Reynolds. The first book in the series is Raphael (Vampires in America Book 1) I go back and re-read them often while waiting for the next one to be released.

You know, that one has been on my wishlist forever and I keep passing it over for something else. I need to go ahead get it. I've been kind of wanting a good vamp recently.

I loved Raphael but was disappointed in book 2. I have most of the books in the series but haven't read them. How do the other books compare to Raphael?
agreads & Samantha K --- I'm more into shifter books when I'm in the mood for a PRN book then I am vampires, but I liked the world building that was created, and the over-all story arc has kept me wanting to find out what happens next. Like most series some books were better then others but even the ones that were not my favorites kept my attention and I wasn't skimming or skipping pages/chapters like I might do with other books. If I were to say something negative about a couple of the books it would be that the "romance" part could have been kicked up a notch.
Samantha K - not sure any of the books can compare to the first one. That one really was the best but I have enjoyed most of them and really liked the last one "Lucifer".
Ikie - Yeah that was my feeling in reading book 2. I read and enjoyed many books in the Kate Daniels series but I knew going in that it would be a slower burn, not that this series is that slow. Raphael was awesome imo and is in my favorites collection. I don't have Lucifer and book 3 (I think). I'll have to look at it closer.
I love Paranormal myself too. I love all romance genres as long as the H is OTT j/p. I can't stand beta H's. They bore me. I like my H to be a non-pc caveman-lol. Do you like this type of H?
agreads - I've never read The Elemental Mysteries. Spoilers?

agreads - I've never read The Elemental Mysteries. Spoilers?
In the 1st book, the h is in her last year of college and works in the rare books collection at the college library. The H comes in several times to research some documents, always after dark. They become friends and then more. The four books follow the same H/h, although they are not cliffies. There is one overall plot to the series, and then subplots in each book. There are 4 types of vampires who can control the elements, earth, water, fire (the H is one), and wind (a side character is an ancient wind vampire and she's lots of fun). There is a faction of vamps who are trying to perfect a formula and overthrow the vamp council. There is a period of separation that you learn more about in the beginning of book 2 and the H has to do a lot of making up for it. I liked that she did not immediately fall into his arms and act like nothing had happened. There is a big cast of side characters that are well developed, and the locations move all around the world, which was interesting. Actually, I have the four book set and it's kindle lendable if you want to try it.

As for the H, I don't know if I would classify him as strictly j/p. He has his moments for sure, and can be overbearing when he thinks his age and experience gives him the right to make decisions for her. He can be incredibly sweet, too, though. He does get ragey if she is hurt or even bruised and doesn't like other men around her unless they are his friends. Is this making any sense? Lol. I'm not sure what you look for in a j/p hero. The romance is slightly slower than a standalone book, but we aren't really talking Zapata slow (which frankly bore me to tears).
Think Bones. I like my H's to be total j/p alphas. I find myself disappointed if they aren't. Is the romance akin to The Nighthuntress Series as far as pace?
I'm a totall sucker for Lothaire Daciano of Kresley Cole's LOTHAIRE. (Immortals After Dark series). He's my perfect vampire! He's an unapologetic jerk who doesn't take no for an aswer. In the good sense.
Other vampire I love is Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries). *sigh* even though I didn't finish the series, he was amazing.

I'm a total sucker for Elijah on The Originals. (Maybe I'm showing my age here.)
Hahaha! I was talking about the books but Damon in the series is simply amazing, too! And I love Elijah too, he's a charming one. But I think he doesn't appear in the books, I don't remember.
