I've been taking a short break from romance. In between reading some epic fantasy, I've also been reading more of the Body Farm series by Jefferson Bass (writing duo of Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bill Bass). I haven't read them in order, although I probably should. I'm reading whichever ones the library has based on my mood of what I want to read about. Right now I'm on The Bone Yard
How to categorize this? Thriller? True crime novel? One of the baddies was in prison. He heard an inmate say the Cutter family in out of the way Kansas was wealthy and kept $10K in their home safe.
Two baddies, both ex-cons, proceeded to murder the Cutter family. But no $10K in the home safe. It was chilling how/ why they decided to kill. But Capote was too wordy @ times. The baddies were casual with killing, stealing (money, cars), cheating, swindling, lying. The Kansas police alerted police in 17 states to be on the look-out for these 2 goons.

I've read this one, but it has been so long ago that I don't remember much about it. I think I still have the paperback in one of my bookcases.
