I am a fan of this author and this series, but I agree Colin was difficult for me to love. I loved all the other books, and because I recommended I've just one clicked this one. I'll let you know if I like it. I continue to re-read the first 2 books, some of my favourite historical reads. Mind you, my favourite list is at least 50! I have moved away from historicals this year, mostly reading scifi.
Thanks bj. I look forward to your thoughts once you've read it.
Has anyone read this yet? I'm still not able to make myself start it.
There are also reviews for Books 7 and 8 on their site you might find helpful, don't have those titles handy.
Happy Reading.

Janie, I've just finished reading the AAR reviews for books 8 and 9 of Elisa Braden's "Rescued From Ruin" series, and sadly, haven't been inspired to finish reading the series.
I think I've absorbed all I can of Elisa Braden for the present. Perhaps a longer break is needed before I try again.

Hi Lush, I'm feeling very guilty for not reading these as I said I would. I am very sorry for my delay. I have just finished Elizabeth Hoyt's Princes series, and moved onto her Maiden Lane series, only at number 3, so quite a lot before I finish. I am on a historical series binge - and just loving it. I still intend to read all of the Elisa Braden series after Maiden Lane.
Have you read the Princes series - I recommend it. I do a review of each book on GReads, although they are really only my views - & to keep track of my 'library'. I find my ratings and reviews don't meet others' standards, what I like others don't, and sometimes I get really upset with what I see as 'lazy' or poorly developed plots, so I don't hesitate to rate accordingly. I don't really mind grammatical concerns, just like good stories, preferably with steam. The Truth about Cads and Dukes is one of my all time favourites, just the right level of angst and steam for me. Ha ha.

Hi Lush,
I'm glad you found the reviews helpful. Sometimes it's a balancing act on not overdosing with an author but wanting to know what's happening in the world that's been created. Sounds like you've made a right decision in this case. And you can always pick it up later.

Don't feel guilty. There is always a new book/series that looks more attractive than planned reading. I Love Elizabeth Hoyt, but there is always something getting in the way of my beginning her Maiden Lane series, not least the number of books in the series. I loved the Princes series, which I read when first released, as well as her Legend of the Four Soldiers. Might be time for a re-read when I finish my current re-read of Pamela Clare's I-Team series. Am on a romantic suspense kick at present.

Elizabeth Hoyt is my all time favorite HR author. For me she has just the right combination of steam and story. The Raven Prince is my favourite of that series. Books one and ten are my tops in the Maiden Lane series. I also love the four soldiers.
I'm a bit behind and haven't read 3 or 4 of her newest books. So I have something to look forward to!

Hi Lush - I've finally read A Marriage Made in Scandal (Rescued from Ruin Series) and I rated it 5 stars. It's not the best book in the series, I found both the lead characters to be a bit cool at first, but as usual the author drew me in and I really felt their connection and they deserved their HEA. Nice balance of angst, mystery and steam. I'm about to re-read the rest of the books in the series, I do love this author.
