I know nothing makes me more anxious then when my pet has problems. Usually can't think straight. So happy for you your dog is okay especially on this day! (emoji w/sun glasses is wishful thinking since cloudy and rain more than sun here)
Thanks! It's really hard when pets are not feeling well because they can't tell you what's wrong. Ugh, it's cloudy over here too, and I think we're getting a mix of snow and rain later.
Maybe we live not far from each other because my area is also calling for a mix of rain and snow later or tomorrow! Rats! I live in Annapolis, Maryland. 🌴
Here comes the sun even though I love that rainy day feeling!

Hehehe ... I hate reading everyday life stuff in books, especially if they go on for chapters, can you imagine if I have to write it? Zzzzz
Lol!!!!!
I'm glad your dog is ok. I can only imagine how stressed you were. <Hugs> to you and your sweet, giant dog! (You posted a pic on the J/P page a while back and he's adorable!)

Loved the video, but I feel deeper emotion from your writing than I do from Ms. Platten's video when comparing the two. Life still getting in the way (or should I say the internet), but I love looking forward to finishing your book! I'm at the part where Grant is trying to stop Blaire from leaving again after the ROC incident. (do not want to say more as anything I write would be a spoiler) Loved the tracking! Are you thinking these things up all day for your writing, spur of the moment, up 24 hrs afraid you might miss a thought? I was an Art Major in college and would daydream about what I would draw next. One of my pastels is from a dream.

It's interesting you mentioned that one of your pastels came from a dream! Captive Lies was from a dream. I woke up and the whole idea came to my head. Originally, it was supposed to be a married couple, but I was finding it hard to find a way to keep the secret if they've been married for years.
Ideas usually come to me out of the blue. If I try too hard to work out a plot, the actions do not come naturally for the characters. This is probably why it takes me forever to write a book. LoL! I usually power through the first draft quickly, but it takes several drafts to get the story to where I want it to be. Also, I do plan my next scenes as I'm lying in bed and a sequence of dialogue comes to me that I think would be brilliant. Then I fall asleep and wake up and I don't remember it. Grrr... LoL! I'm thinking of keeping a notepad next to my bed now.

I can appreciate your creativity with words as mine is through art, crafts, decorating and organization, but never with words. Oh, I'm okay writing emails, messages etc. but a wall comes up when thinking about writing a book. I've been looking for the perfect historical romance novel where there is the gorgeous tall, dark Duke and put myself in the picture at a ball thinking he would never want to meet me because I am not part of the ton and that's as far as I get. I love tension between the man and woman without immediate connection in Hystericals (LOL) and enough angst to make my heart skip a beat. I end up re-reading the older books. and guess my favorite story is Cinderella and my favorite movie is Sound of Music.

Thank you! I like to tell stories, but grammar isn't my strongest ... what happens when you mix two languages growing up. I remember my first editor said I was very straightforward, and I'm slowly becoming more creative, balancing show not tell. But I think there's an advantage to tell especially for action scenes. You don't want to get all poetic during a fast-paced scene and pull your reader out of the story. So, I'm a work in progress, but I'm so happy that my words speak to you. I've recently injected angst in my book and I know some of my long-time readers want to kill me. LoL!
I've been busy re-working my website. Besides updated information on my current books, I'll be adding information on upcoming releases. I'm also adding random reviews and author ramblings. It is in no way a review blog. When I first started blogging, I've been doing round-ups of my favorite books but the interface was clunky. Now that I've moved to a self-hosted server and using wordpress.org, there are more plug-ins I can use for authors.
I now have a newsletter! I promise not to spam you. I'll probably be releasing only one every quarter, definitely not more than once a month. Some readers have suggested an extended epilogue of Captive Lies, and I will be releasing that via newsletter. Also, I think book trivia games are going to be fun and relevant for Amazon gift card giveaway options.
I really enjoyed the discussion about your writing process. I love the extra epilogues to your books. I look forward to the newsletters. Thanks for sharing.
