Who's your favorite author in this genre and why?

I haven't read very many books in this genre so I have no authors to mention. In fact, I just checked my Goodreads and Kindle favorites and I don't have any from this genre as a favorite. The only fighter/boxer book that I enjoyed enough to read again was the ow/ym one where he was her trainer and helped her to lose weight. I didn't like that the H was 20 (I like ow/ym theme but like the H and h to be older) but it was very well done and he was possessive which I love. I enjoyed this book because of that theme (ow/ym) and that she was not as attractive at first & then blossomed into a very attractive woman that OM noticed.. (Like the ugly duckling becoming a swan.) It made the book more interesting to me. (I thought the book was Until Nico but reading the book description just now I'm not so sure. If he trains her and helps her to lose weight then it is.)

I think I struggle because the training, boxing or fighting scenes are so descriptive and they take over the story. Yawn! I'm not reading a romance to be overwhelmed by that stuff. Usually, the storyline is the same - the dude wants to be a champ. Yeah, we get it. Yawn. I would love it if authors wrote fighter/boxer stories where the training and fights aren't a part of the story arc because the H's are hot. If you think about it, when we read a Rockstar romance we don't have to read about his singing lessons. If he's a special forces dude we don't go to boot camp with him and if he's a cop we don't read about the police academy so why do we have to read about training? I don't understand why authors think training to win some big boxing match is going to be interesting to romance readers AND that we would like to read a play by play account of the boxing/fighting match. It sucks imo.
