I'm looking for recs on books where the h is an ex con. It can be either wrongly convicted or crime she committed in the past and has paid her dues. Books I have read with this theme are
This Heart Of Mine by Brenda Novak - this one was written really well but wished the H wasn't so forgiving right from the start
The Bad Penny by Susan Fox -this one was meh
Unforgiven by Elizabeth Fin - loved this one, so much angst
Night in Eden by Candice Proctor - again, loved this one and all the angst
Hi kereni, thanks for the we rec! I've read The Pamalan Claire one and loved it. I also love LaVyrle Spencer and Kristen Ashley and will have to look these ones up. Do you have any recs for ones with the heroine as the ex con?

My apologies as I see now that you'd asked for heroine recommendations in your first post. I confess that I forget that the H is supposed to stand for the hero. (I'm thinking that as a woman I want a capital letter!)

Oh no worries, I realized that it was a little confusing with just the letter h. 😃

I just finished Angel: A Linear Tactical Romantic Suspense Standalone by Janie Crouch and it fits this theme. The h served six years in prison for a car accident. While there is not much angst over the accident between the H and h, he mistrusts her for other reasons related to crimes committed by her father. I enjoyed this one!

I enjoyed this one as well. Though I was angry at the judge for sentencing someone who had absolutely no previous criminal record to six years in jail for something that was an accident.
