Jane, a brainy PhD scientist, badly wanted a baby. She tricked pro QB, Cal, into giving her a baby. Illegal and unethical. She
thought he was a dumb jock, but she soon learned otherwise. He was furious RE her deception and not being informed
he would became a father. They traded insults, then he wed her & he brought her (during off-season) to rural N.C. where
he was born/ raised.
Their visit to his parents and Granny added poignancy, love, and humor. This family showed primo pride in Cal. The leads
gradually fell in love. The epilogue informed readers of Cal's surprising post QB career.
What a couple after they got past the anger! This story: worth reading again.
