I've read many of her books and liked them. When I saw she has a new book out and there are so many five star reviews I was curious and excited to read it. I knew before I started that this book is not a straight romance, more a mystery/thriller one, and that was ok because I also like to read that kind of books. Although this books has a let's say happy end, I don't consider this book a romance. Honestly, I don't even know how to rate it, but definetly not five star, maybe 3 stars. The idea is great, but I didn't liked the characters, it has some triggers, like child death, and a somehow open end ; it is not a cliffhanger but it let's you decide what was the truth. Some spoilers ahead !!!!!
So, Lowen, this struggling writer ,is hired by one Jeremy Crawford to finish his wife's (Verity) series, she is a very known and successful author, because she had an accident and can't finish her series( she published 6 of the 9 book series). She is invited at their home where Lowen finds out that Verity can't move at all and has a mind of a child, she can't even speak. She also finds out that they had 3 children, 2 girls and a 5 year old boy, and that the girls died in 2 separate accidents. Verity's office is full of papers, books, manuscripts and Lowen finds Verity's autobiography in which she wrote about her relationship with Jeremy and her children and despicable acts. She doesn't know what to do but she is also attracted by Jeremy and viceversa, and they start a thing. Some strange things happen and in the end they remain togheter.
