Out Of My League - Jessica Prince
4 out of 5 stars.
Hello everyone! I haven't been on much because I haven't found anything interesting or annoying enough to make an effort. However! Read this one last night. This will be a good one for any Kristen Ashley fans out there. Seriously there were times where if I was reading an actual paper book, I would have checked the cover to see who really wrote it but since I love KA myself, I really enjoyed this.
Similarities:
h is the shy, who me? type that cannot believe anyone is attracted to her.
Every male including waiters, all of H's friends, H's dog, etc attracted to her.
Big mass of hair.
Has a stunning makeover by getting a haircut.
Elaborate descriptions of jewelry, clothing including "badass" shoes.
Dream job that I do not believe exists or would support anyone working from home editing romance novels but never seems to worry about money, etc.
Criminal family that interferes and causes her to be kidnapped.
Makes female friends in basically less than a week who become her very best ever friends and establishes a girl posse that she somehow never had before within minutes which includes girl's night, spa visits, etc.
Claims to be shy and retiring but has no problems confronting H's exes in public places.
Gets kidnapped and injured.
Has somehow never had a serious relationship and is in her 30's.
H is typical KA H including speech, job, attitudes, anti-commitment, etc.
Overly gorgeous to everyone.
Dates nasty big boobed skinny types who are opposite of h.
Every single ex he has that is mentioned in the book is horrible (brings up question of his taste levels) and makes a scene at some point.
Works with his friends who are all gorgeous sequel baits in security firm.
Calls h by nickname (think princess, babe, etc).
Has never had a serious relationship and is in his 40's.
This may not be sounding good but somehow it works for KA and it works here. The situations are all KAesque as well. H is dating h to see if her family is involved in robberies (he never noticed the shy stuttering neighbor before), h finds out after being taken to police station and he watches questioning from behind glass and finds out about family abuse (Hmm. What book does this sound like?) H insists on having his coworkers watch h after she dumps him, etc. KA makes this work and so does Jessica Prince. There are 3 more in this series that will all be released by July 2019 and I will be reading them all. The next is a second chance one where the main characters are in their late 30's to 40's like many of KA's characters and I am looking forward to it.
EDIT: So I was slightly confused! It is "badass" H and "kickass" shoes. It threw me off since I myself have never owned any shoes I would consider kickass in any way although my wedding shoes were pretty! Also this was KU and a lot of her books are!
