A fav book of 2018. The setting was England and Scotland 1857, going forward.
Indebted English earl, Liam, sought a MOC arrangement. Scottish heiress Anna sought marriage to own outright a Scottish Isle
willed to her (w/ conditions) and to become a mom.
These 2 wed, were on a docked ship, bound for their Paris honeymoon, they argued and he disappeared. She felt rejected &
abandoned. Much later she learned the H was kidnapped into forced labor on a penal ship, bound for Australia.
This romance had every emotion IE anger, sadness, panic, jealousy, vulnerability, shame. Duran, once again excelled at complex,
interesting characters and dialogue.
Could be read as a standalone book.
