Martha, a recent widow, hired a selfish wastrel, Theo (son of a baronet) to give her a baby inside of 1 month. She'd claim her
late spouse as the father. She had several reasons for this. She hid her emotions & distained foreplay. And was stiff and non-
giving during sex.
The leads really grew in this story, assisting the tenants and each other. They both matured and fell in love.
2) A Woman Entangled: Blackshear Family #3

The hero barrister, Nick, had barrister mentor Charles, father of beautiful Kate. Kate bragged about her beauty. Kate's goal
was to wed a man with a title & to re-connect her dad to his bro the earl after a 20+ yr estrangement. Kate was too snobbish/
superficial/ managing/ materialistic for my taste. I did not believe this HEA would last.
PS I read Blackshear Family #2 a few yrs back. I was not in the mood for the courtesan trope again.
