Gave this 4.5 stars of 5. Action took place in England and France.
This Victorian era romance was nearly perfect. It had 3 romantic couples. Reynard, called "Rey" acted as an information broker
and heir to a hyper-critical viscount. Frances, called "Frankie" traveled w/ mom, her 3 sisters & Uncle Red from Nevada to
England. (Daisy, the h's sis wed in Bk #1). Uncle owned a Nevada silver mine. Mom obsessed on a daughter landing a duke in
the marriage mart. Mom needed a large 'chill pill' and to remove the blinders she wore: related to "accomplished men."
Mom arranged for Frankie to meet Max, a pushy Prussian duke. Max held Fran's hand too long & too tightly. He barely knew her.
He mistreated a horse he considered purchasing by boxing in the horse. The anxious horse bolted. He wanted control. Virile,
vulnerable Rey fell for Frankie & validated her opinions. Frankie tried to dodge Max when possible. The H + h realized they were
'crazy in love' each had to acknowledge it and share feelings. One of my fav heroes inside the last year.
IMO. A man or woman who mistreats animals is sick and must genuinely change, before hoping for a HEA.
