I enjoyed the story progression in Mist's Edge. However, both Shea and Fallon got on my nerves at times. They're both autocratic and too stubborn. Shea's internal dialog was repetitive and a bit whiny. She's made the commitment to stay with Fallon's people yet she still holds back knowledge she learned as a Pathfinder.
I skimmed past most of Shea and Fallon's arguments. I'm hoping their relationship will grow as well as discover what's causing the upheaval in the Broken Lands. I think I know who is behind all the beast attacks but I could be wrong. One minor rant about this book........a young orphan is introduced into the story who's name is Mist. Unfortunately one of the elements the Trateri has to navigate is an all encompassing mist that disorients and steals people way. I don't get why and author would name a character after a phenomena that's a major part of the story line. It's confusing to the reader. Thankfully there weren't sentences like: "Mist was afraid of the mist".
I'm interested in the story arc so I will continue and read the third book.

I don't understand her devotion to people who abandoned her. The meeting with her father toward the end of the book just drove home the antipathy the other Pathfinder's have for her. She continues to make excuses for their bad behavior, even when they want to try her for something she didn't do.
