Sapphire Flames was very good and a fine addition to the Hidden Legacy world. I bounced between the ebook and the audio version. I think the story had a more NA feel. Not surprising since the protagonists are younger. The story revolves around Catalina solving the mystery of Sigourney Etterson's murder. Alessandro Segrado is Catalina's love interest and partner in solving the mystery. There were a few times I thought Catalina / Alessandro's adventures and dialog were very much like Nevada / Mad Rogan's. Also, throughout the book Alessandro's good looks and instagram posts were mentioned. That got a bit old for me. He's good looking, I got it the first time it was described in excruciating detail. Anything about instagram dates the book, IMO. It's just a personal pet peeve. The beauty of fantasy stories for me is that they can be read and enjoyed many years after being written. In 10 - 20 years an otherwise great fantasy story may seem old and dated because of currently popular social media platforms being mentioned over and over. Don't get me wrong, anything the husband and wife duo write is worth reading.
I loved the change in narrator. Emily Rankin was the perfect narrator providing a younger voice for Catalina and her friends. I'll definitely read the next book in the series.
