What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon - 5 Stars (KU)
Time travel stories are hit or miss for me...but in this case it was a HIT! I like Amy Harmon's stories, so taking a chance on time travel with Amy was a good choice and I enjoyed the journey.
What the Wind Knows starts out with Anne spending time with her grandfather, Owen, who's dying. He tells Anne she has to take his ashes back to Ireland, where he lived as a boy, and spread them in the loch. When she does she's taken back to a time when the Irish Revolution is upon them. She comes back as her great-grandmother, or at least that's who they think she is. Where she meet's Thomas, the man who ends up raising Owen after Owen's parents are killed.
As I mentioned, the past is during the Irish Revolution. However, the present is in 2001, with Anne returning before 9/11.
I listened to the audio (great narration), but the book is a KU. It's about loss of a family member, love found, love lost and finally found again. Sounds mysterious doesn't it?
