I love everything about the Class 5 series. The heroes and heroines are strong and smart. Nobody does impulsive or dumb stuff. The plots are well thought out and believable. After the third book and end of the series Linda and I spent some time (hours) on the phone whining that no more books were coming (what are friends for?). We both agreed there was enough unanswered questions left hanging that one more story could be written. I'm glad we weren't alone and Michelle Diener listens to her readers. When I saw Dark Matters up for pre-order I swooned then emailed Linda. Happiness should be shared, right?
Dark Matters didn't disappoint. The lying, thieving Tecran abducted 4 earth women in their Class 5 ships. Although three women were found, Lucy Harris was imprisoned on Tecra and no one knew she was there. Before Paxe triggered his self destruct in Dark Minds he sent a message to his fellow AIs that the Tecran had abducted an earth women with his ship. Bane takes on the task of finding Lucy Harris as well as accompanying a group of United Council representatives to begin dismantling the Tecran military.
I'm not going to give away spoilers. I will say I enjoyed reading about the Tecran people. The fate of the Tecran military was resolved. I wish the series could continue but if this was the last book I'm OK with it.
The plot was action packed. I thought Dray was a strong hero. Lucy was brave and didn't take crap from anyone. I want my own Grihan Battle Center Captain!
The first book in the series, Dark Horse is free right now. The rest are part of KU.
