This is an excellent mafia romance with a terrific j/p H. There's no cheating, no ow/om drama, no abuse, and no triggers. This H is devoted to the h. He takes one look at her and he falls for her but it's not an instant love/hop in bed story. The H knows she's different and will be worth the wait. He woos her and takes his time. He waits several dates just to kiss her and waits longer still to have sex with her. He wants her to fall for him first. When they do finally have sex, it's hot and very steamy!
I love how he treated her. He's sooo good to her! He treats her like she's fragile and precious to him. She has zero clue he's in the mafia at first and for at least half the book. She's sweet, sincere and not a shrew at all. She's also a virgin. I love how they talked to each other and their love felt real.
The only thing I did not like were the dreams the h had. While I understand what the author was trying to convey by including them, they were completely unnecessary. The way they were written, it was unclear that it was a dream until the h woke up. The first time I read one of the h's dreams, I was so confused. I wish they hadn't been included in the story.
Other than the dreams, it was a 5 star story and I loved it. However, the dreams were so bad, I'm knocking my rating down. I really debated about minusing a star because I loved this book but they bothered me too much.

I just finished this last night and I loved it too. I didn't like the dreams either. I got confused about if it was a dream or not. It reminded me of Knight by Kristen Ashley.
I didn't go looking for spoilers so the second half of the book SHOCKED me!!!

I'm glad you liked it. You were shocked? Yeah, I guess I can see how you would be. 😊
I have to say, there's something about a H that dotes on the h that I just love. It made it even better for me that he was this "bad" guy that others feared and yet look how he treated her! That's my favorite type of romance. Bad guy turned to putty for the h.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who hated the dreams. They added nothing to the story. If anything they were a detriment.
