SOLVED Looking for Title: Widow with little

I don’t recall reading your book but the buttons is a great clue, widow is helpful too.

If it’s CR, does it seem like it was along the lines of a short category Harlequin-type romance.

Are you a KU reader or perhaps the book was paperback with a more well-known author.

I feel confident that I've read this also; however, I'm drawing a blank. I'm thinking it was a historical but could be mistaken.

Josie, you nailed it! Good job! Found this scene in a review at Goodreads:

“What is that, Miss Rose?”
“My button string.” The child let some of the length fall to the ground, displaying a line of carefully strung buttons…picture buttons etched with flowers, fruit or butterflies, ones made of molded black glass and a few of painted enamel and paper. “This one is my perfume button,” Rose said proudly, fingering a large one with velvet backing. She lifted it to her nose and inhaled deeply. “Mama puts her perfume on it for me, to make it smell nice.”

I read Where Dreams Begin in 2000 when it first came out and gave it an (A- Hot) but don’t remember it today. I really hate seeing my memory go.
