Colorado Territory 1872. This had lively dialogue.
Laural operated a stage-coach home station. She & her staff switched off horses, fed the
passengers and she sorted the mail. Her station housed a telegraph. She was intrigued by
mysterious passenger McCall "Call" Laundry. Much later she discovered Call had been
a Union Army spy captured by Confederates & imprisoned.
She saw Call pass through a second time, to investigate the theft of a wealthy mine
owner's payroll. He and Laurel became friends. She wanted sex from him -he declined-
he was a gent. Curious Laurel revealed 3 other men, anyone of whom could get the
job done. He relented. These 2 were wildly attracted to each other.
I tired of the lying bad guys.
