Not for me but for Banana Boat who said and asked on the free today, when chatting about a book where the MMC hooks up with someone other than the FMC. More Informatione Here
Now I'm interested. What book was this?
When I remember I'll let you know. Because I honestly picked it up from one of my readers clubs coffee table and read the first few chapters and skimmed the middle. But because I was not fully invested I set it down and didn't bother to make a note of it.
I typed in some of the titles I thought it could be and none turned out. (Purfect Vengeance, Cat's Got Your Tongue) None were it. I'll ask the club and hope someone saw it or read it.
I'll type what I remember here and hopefully someone will come up with a few titles that will help me out.
She was a shifter (some type of cat, not a big one but one of the ones that get confused for house cats as kittens since a few people made a comment about her size), he wasn't (but he is part of the paranormal world, made potions and had some type of magic).
He was rich and a bit of stuck up, so was the woman he hooked up with (hence the chasing after him for a while, same circle of friends)
His friends all thought he was gonna be with FMC until that moment, where they all sort of had varying opinions (some said you just made a mistake, others were neutral about it)
FMC is stubborn, had brown hair, brown eyes, average height. Upper middle class, and smart.
MMC was just above averaged height for men, blue eyes, sandy colored hair. Rich and smart (I don't think he was described as handsome but charming and alluring)
Her circle of friends and his were not friends, and during their school days had more of a dislike for each other but didn't interact just knew of each other in passing. One of her friends did play football or something with a few of his friends. (no mortals non magical folks allowed because they were like super strong)
They were all college age 19-21, and were trying to not live as their magical stereotypes knowing they at some point in their adult lives had to take a role in their society. They all live at the school campus.
I think it falls into urban fantasy. It was mostly a clean book (more PG 13 since there was one scene with MMC and OW but not described just that FMC saw them naked and together with obvious movements described but not detailed of what they were doing)
The cover had a young woman (cartoon cover) and a orange/brown-ish cat on the cover. Reminded me of the old school Goosebumps books.
FMC first name may have started with a J, maybe Jane?, and MMC was with a D, There was a one character named Dean in there that I remember because I compared him to Sophie Lark's character who is also named Dean and funny the FMC in Sophie Lark's book is named Cat. LOL! But they are not the same books, since the one I'm looking for has magical beings and this series of hers does not.
It could also be the 2nd or 3rd book in the series.
I think it was Harry Potter inspired, but I don't remember there being houses and stuff like that just magic and shifters and like hanging out with like due to classism and bad reps for some shifters who are more dangerous than others.
