There is intalove and then there is this. The relationship was far too rushed to be even remotely believable. They have sex for a week, during which they both act like immature brats, then they pine for each other for 8 weeks, she moves in, they go public, and it's over. Anything that might have explained their connection, or hell, even shown a connection outside of sex, is skipped over. Even all the drama with his daughter is magically resolved.
Not to mention what a 42-year-old man did to a college boy. No matter his reasoning, that was inexcusable.
This book had a great premise, but the execution was rushed and unpolished and the characters shallow and one-dimensional. It's a good thing this time that the book ended at 40%. I didn't bother to read the other books included with it.

I don't know why some authors don't develop the relationship between the H and the h. In my opinion it is boring to read and I can't imagine that it is much less boring to write. Why waste the time.
alyrica Agreed. I don't have a problem with instalust and instalove if the author can show me a reason for it and slip in a deepening connection during the instalust scenes. That never happened in Wreck Me, so that by the time their spearation occurs, which the reader as well as the characters knew was coming, their OTT reactions, sobbing and 8 weeks of misery make no sense. It was such a shame because the core premise could have made a great book. Oh, and do away with that one scene I vaguely alluded to in my review. *shudder*

I hate the wasted potential of a good plot due to poor execution. I am not a fan of instalove and prefer a slow burn but there have been many books where I was able to buy in and enjoy it. I am really curious about the scene you alluded to. I'm going to GR now for spoilers.
agreads - Wow, I read a really long spoiler post. I can't believe how high the ratings are based on your post and the spoiler review I read.
****** spoiler ******** Let me preface this comment with the fact that my vengefulness is a HUGE character flaw of which I am very aware. That being said, I thing Brody should have taken it further by video taping his good buddy Bubba making Dalton squeal like a pig, if you get my drift. Whenever I read about rape in these books I get so angry that I want the male perpetrating the act to know the shame and horror that comes with such a despicable action. I know this makes me a terrible person but gah.... can't help the satisfaction I get from the villain getting what they give. I would have also been satisfied with castration.
Oh goodness! See, I went the other way. It creeped me the hell out that Brody got away with his revenge with absolutely zero consequences.
I think your response is far more typical than mine and most would probably agree with you. This type of violence is one of my triggers so I am a bit OTT in what I want to happen...lol
