Now and Forever
I read this recently cause I am dead bored and hunting for something to capture my interest. This had 5 star reviews so I thought what the hell. No. This is obviously part of a series that involves a bunch of friends so the story is already kind of choppy as some of it has evidently happened in other couple's books. From what I could gather H and h are basically stars of the public stage at a sex club everyone seems to belong to. They don't do any of that in this book. They have been a couple for 7 years and are secretly married for, well I don't know, reasons I guess. Basic story is H father is a complete dick who used H frozen samples (why did he have frozen samples, again?) with his piece on the sides daughter who they wanted H to marry (he considered her a friend only and she was too drugged up and stupid to figure out this was a bad idea, I think?) to artificially inseminate and birth an illegitimate son. Much to the H and h's shock, they are presented with said child and it causes much grief over whether he cheated or not and how this kid came to be. Sounds like it could be drama filled but all this apparently happened before this book. It apparently is public knowledge how this kid came to be and he lives with mom and grandma (piece on the side) while H visits every now and then. This is basically how h adapts to the existence of the kid (and yet also ignores him completely - I think she meets him once?), while everyone else seems to be pretty blase about it. Secret marriage is revealed and nobody cares really. It doesn't change anything in the story so I don't get the point of keeping it a secret even from the reader until it is revealed. I found it frustrating that no one seemed to be all that bothered by what the grandparents did. Maybe the reactions were part of another book that I don't care to look up and read. Heroine should have left and never spoken to any of them again. Very bland for the potential subject matter.
