Minor and very brief om situation -
No abuse by H
Minor breath play that h liked (choking during intimacy)
Delayed sex until almost the end but they did other stuff.
h - Initially argumentative, rude to H, and tries to get away from him. She's also kinda dumb at times. You'll want to slap her. She does change by the end of the book though.
H - Pretty damn perfect imo. He's a controlling, j/p alpha bad boy; a gun smuggler, rich, powerful and a non-abusive, doting H. He's not mean to the h at all even though she does deserve it at times.
1st person POV mostly h's POV but at times we get the H's POV as well.
This is a gem! I loved this book! It was so different than what I expected - in an amazing and great way and I don't want to spoil it.
Initially, it seemed like this would be a dark romance and it kinda was but I'd classify it as light dark romance, lol. The H is obviously a tough, super bad dude that others fear yet he's so good to the h. So careful with her. The h hates him. I mean he did kidnap her after all.
The preface of the book.... It's the h's 18th b-day. The H stormed her family estate and there was bloodshed. Her father was killed and she was taken captive. He takes her to a beautiful, tropical island and dotes on her there. Chapter 1 begins 3 years after this occurred. The h is freaking out because she and the H have an agreement. He's going to hold her to something and she only has a short time left to escape. She still can't stand him but she is attracted to him.
In all this time, he has never raped the h. He hasn't even had sex with her or kissed her. Every night he asks her if she'll kiss him goodnight. She refuses and he lets her. He dotes on her. One time she requested McDonald's and sure enough he had food flown in for her.
I have to say that I love this type of H. I LOVE a bad-a*s bad boy that takes care of the h. I love it when the H would rather cut his arm off than hurt the h and I believe that's the case here. This dude is crazy about her. By the end of the book, I 100% believed he loved her more than his own life.
I can't tell you more because I don't want to ruin the story but I was kind of wow'd by the twist. I didn't see it coming.
