H - j/p alpha (& an alpha-hole at times)
h - strong, not a doormat, not tstl
No cliffy
Not a dark story
Steamy, open door sex scenes
I would give this 4 stars ONLY because it needed a good grovel. Had the H groveled and suffered, (& bled, begged and suffered & suffered) it would've been 5 stars and a top favorite. I just found out this was Victoria Paige's first book. I had no idea it was her first. It doesn't have a first book "feel" to it, imo. The writing is excellent and it's well edited.
This is a romantic suspense with a j/p H who pursues the spy h. I loved his pursuit of her. It was sooooo good and then suddenly it's over. I wanted his pursuit to last much, much longer. Due to the brevity of his pursuit, it felt kind of insta-love but it wasn't. (It just felt that way as the h had been resisting the H then all of a sudden they're in bed.)
The H becomes an alpha-hole at one point and you'll hate him but it's pretty dang interesting. I was so ticked, I pretty much devoured that part, lol. (I'm a bit twisted.) I was greatly looking forward to him suffering and groveling but that didn't happen. Still, it's good and definitely worth it for free.
