I read this/these a few years ago, and all I can seem to remember is that there are a group of friends. One of them is a large man who has an obsession with science, and experiments. He has been engaged to a young lady for years but is no closer to naming a date for the wedding, because of his chemistry obsession. I think that his fiancee is good with maths? I think that at one pont she ends the engagement to try and bring him to his senses. Anyone??

How annoying! I’ve searched everywhere and I can’t find the title!! If I’m not mistaken it’s actually the secondary romance to the main romance story. That’s why I’m having such a hard time finding it. Also, the author isn’t a big name author (... read: Lisa Kleypas, Mary Balogh...)

I’ll keep looking ..

Dark Wager by Mary Spencer has this set up with the friends and Wulf is engaged to Bella he is always going off with her father to discuss mathematics. They have been engaged forever and she wants to end it. He ignores her a lot and has a mistress/mistresses she doesn’t seem to be aware of them so mostly she’s upset cause he cares more about math than her. Although all the other friends got a book she never wrote his. This is the only one that came to mind. I really wish there would’ve been a book for them.
