SOLVED Heroine hiding a secret (contemporary)

I read so many books with similar themes, I hope all these details are from the same book!
-Contemporary
-Heroine is on the run/in hiding and working as a cleaning lady in an office
-Hero works in the office and keeps seeing her work late so is worried about her safety in getting home, I think he offers her a ride one night when it is raining and sees she is living in a shady motel
-He convinces her to stay with him and he is doing a lot of renovations to his place (I think it's on the ocean?). I seem to remember her dropping a glass on the newly finished wood floor and being afraid of his reaction, so maybe she was hiding from an abusive ex?
-Heroine enjoys cooking meals for the H
-She flees when the H figures out her secret (she maybe stops at friends of the H's on her way out of town to leave her dog?)
-H tracks her down at the train station
Sadly I read this book quite recently and cannot remember the title! I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance
