1) The hero and heroine live apart - she lives in England and he lives in Italy or Greece (can’t remember), and they have a son. I think that the heroine may have had a miscarriage? At the start of the book, the son is due to go back to visit his father and family, but he refuses to go when his grandmother comes to collect him. The reason for this, is that a rather nasty woman who wants the hero, has been saying horrible things to the boy, and frightening him.
2) The hero is Italian, and has a son in his teens. There is a terrorist bomb and the son is injured. The heroine is a nurse at the hospital - which is in England - and she falls for the hero. He proposes marriage but says no more children. She gets pregnant - of course - and the hero is not happy. There is a scene at the end when the heroine drives in a terrible storm, when heavily pregnant, to warn her husband of the weather, and she gets stuck in a rapidly flooding area. Her husband saves her and they go into a hut where she gives birth, and he has to deliver the baby.
